Last week we predicted 'Spider-Man: Far from Home' would easily be the #1 movie at the Box Office! Since this was such an obvious prediction we tried to step it up a notch and guess how much it would bring in! So from it's July 2nd premiere through the Holiday Weekend (6 day total) we predicted it would make $180M domestically...it made $185M! Not too shabby!!! Check back on last week's prediction to see for yourself, we know movies!
So for the actual weekend only July 5th - July 7th 'Spider-Man: Far from Home' was your #1 movie with $92.5M, and as we mentioned with an odd Tuesday opening into the American holiday on July 4th & the weekend it had a 6 day domestic total of $185M. Very impressive numbers & also a worldwide total to the date of publishing this article of $603M!
After a 2 week stint as the #1 movie, 'Toy Story 4' came in 2nd place this past weekend with $33.8M and now a worldwide total of $662M! 'Yesterday' remained in 3rd place with $10M, the Horror film 'Annabelle Comes Home' dropped to 4th place with $9.4M & rounding out the top spots this past weekend in 5th place with $7.5M was 'Aladdin'.
There are 2 new movies opening this weekend in theatres, a new Alligator Action Adventure 'Crawl' & the action comedy 'Stuber' starring Dave Bautista & Kumail Nanjiani who plays Dinesh from HBO's 'Silicon Valley'. It really doesn't matter lol, 'Spider-Man: Far from Home' will 100% repeat as your #1 movie at the Box Office this coming Weekend! However, all bets are off the following weekend when Disney's newest Live-Action remake of 'The Lion King' opens in theatres July 19th.
