So our official prediction last week was that the new Disney/Pixar animated feature 'Onward' would be the new #1 movie at the Box Office! It was a pretty easy prediction to make but nonetheless we were correct! 

'Onward' with voices provided by Tom Holland & Chris Pratt was your new #1 movie with an opening weekend of $39M! Not a huge weekend but good enough to take the top spot. Dropping to 2nd place was the new thriller 'The Invisible Man' starring Elisabeth Moss with $15M. In 3rd place with an opening weekend of just over $8M was a brand new film 'The Way Back'. A heartfelt drama starring Ben Affleck about a former HS basketball phenom, struggling with alcoholism, being offered a coaching job at his alma mater. In 4th place with $7.7M was 'Sonic the Hedgehog' and rounding out the top spots this past weekend with $6.7M in 5th place was 'Call of the Wild'.

There are a couple of new movies opening in wide release this weekend including 'The Hunt'. The screenplay is by Nick Cuse & Damon Lindelof who are famous for twists and turns! This looks creepy and cool! The trailer is amazing (click here to watch it) and it has a solid cast too! The other big movie opening this weekend is 'Bloodshot', a new Sci-Fi Action movie starring Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison, a slain soldier who is re-animated with superpowers. Did not think the trailer looked good and truly don't think it will perform well this weekend.

I think 'The Hunt' will surprise people and have a strong weekend, but this is also the weekend going into March Break here in Canada and that means lots of parents and kids looking for a fun family movie to go to this weekend.
