It was a really low showing at the Box Office this past Super Bowl Weekend, however, as we predicted, 'Glass' 3-peated as the #1 movie at the Box Office with $9.5M. Now with a 3 week domestic total of $88.6M! Also 3-peating in 2nd place was 'The Upside' starring Bryan Cranston & Kevin Hart with $8.6M. 3rd place went to the only new movie premiering this weekend, 'Miss Bala' starring Gina Rodriguez with $6.8M. 4th place went to the King of the Seas 'Aquaman' with $4.8M and a 7 week domestic total of $323M! Rounding out the top spots in 5th place with $4.5M was 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse', our official prediction to win the Oscar later this month for Best Animated Feature, it's a lock!
There are a few new movies opening this coming weekend. The biggest being the long awaited sequel to the extremely popular 2014 'Lego Movie', 'The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part'. Also opening is the latest from Liam Neeson called 'Cold Pursuit'. He's a snowplow driver seeks revenge against the drug dealers he thinks killed his son. You know, the plot to EVERY Liam Neeson movie lol. This one does look like it has a bit more comedy to it and was shot in Alberta & BC Canada so you gotta like that. Last & certainly least, in our opinion lol, opening this weekend is a remake of 'What Women Want' that starred Mel Gibson in 2000. 'What Men Want' starring Taraji P. Henson & Tracy Morgan will be shown in about 2,900 theatres and we're sure there is a new audience for this movie, and might do well, but it's hard to imagine it's even remotely possible that it will take 1st place.
Our official prediction, and we'd say it's pretty obvious, the #1 movie at the Box Office this coming weekend will be 'The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part'!
