With no competition in site, last week we predicted 'Frozen II' would 3-Peat as your #1 movie at the Box Office and of course we were correct 😉.
It was actually a repeat of all the top 5 spots at the Box Office with only the totals changing. 'Frozen II' earned $35.1M in its 3rd Weekend at the top and a worldwide total of $992M! It will most likely cross $1B after next weekend, which would be the 7th Disney owned property to hit that mark in 2019 and 'Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker' set to open before Christmas as well!
In 2nd place this past weekend was 'Knives Out' with $14.2M starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans & Jamie Lee Curtis. Staying in 3rd place with $6.7M was 'Ford v Ferrari', 4th place went to 'Queen & Slim' with $6.6M and rounding out the top spots in 5th place with $5.2M 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' starring Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers.
There are a few movies opening this weekend including the new horror film 'Black Christmas' & the latest from Director Clint Eastwood, 'Richard Jewell'. It's the real life story of an American security guard who saved thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist. With an All-Star cast around awards season, 'Richard Jewell' is going to do well, but none of this means anything because 'Jumanji: The Next Level' is also opening this weekend! After the $962M worldwide success of the previous 'Jumanji' film in 2017, we can easily predict 'Jumanji: The Next Level' will be your new #1 movie at the Box Office this coming weekend! At least for one weekend, as 'Star Wars Episode 9: Rise Of Skywalker' opens the following week. Thanks for reading our weekly report!
