Weekend Box Office: Sept 28-30, 2018

Well there's a new #1 at the Box Office this past weekend, the Kevin Hart comedy  'Night School'! Opening with a $27,257,615 on a budget of only $29M is a solid start! In 2nd place with $23M was the brand new WB Animated movie 'Smallfoot'. We predicted it would be #1 just solely on the fact it was in 1,000 more theatres than 'Night School', however it was no match for the star power Kevin Hart brings.

To round out the Top 5 was basically a repeat of last week's top 3 in the same order. Dropping from #1 last week to 3rd this week is the Jack Black Family Fantasy Film  'The House With A Clock In Its Walls'; 4th place was the Blake Lively Thriller in 'A Simple Favor' and the horror 'The Nun' fell to 5th place.

Opening this Weekend in Theatres; Eddie Brock acquires the powers of a symbiote, and will have to release his alter-ego 'Venom' to save his life. Also opening is the "Oscar-Bait" musical love story 'A Star Is Born', from first time Director & Star Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga. We predict 'Venom' will open at #1 after this weekend! It's in more theatres, but it's also just the type of movie, that although 'A Star is Born' will be more critically acclaimed, 'Venom' will bring out the crowds. Plus, being a Marvel associated film & Tom Hardy's portrayal you know will be dark. People are going to see this movie! A full slate of 'Venom' & Venomized Funko Pops are available right here on kdogandfish.com!
