We know our Box Office! As we predicted 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' was indeed the #1 film this weekend! Grossing $62M domestically & an impressive weekend total of $253M worldwide! In 2nd place with $38M dropping from last week's top spot was the new animated version of 'The Grinch'. Bringing its 2 week total to $126M. In 3rd was the bio-pic of Queen front man Freddie Mercury, 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with $16M, it now has grossed $128M in 3 weeks! Rounding out the top spots were 2 brand new releases, the new comedy 'Instant Family' starring Mark Wahlberg & Rose Byrne came in 4th with $14.5M & in 5th with $12.3M was the crime thriller 'Widows' starring Viola Davis.
3 brand new films are coming out this Weekend! They are actually releasing early, on Wed evening ahead of the American Thanksgiving on Thursday! Opening in wide release are 'Creed 2', continuing the 'Rocky' saga with the son of Apollo Creed. In this sequel Creed's son Adonis will be squaring off against the son of Ivan Drago, the man that killed his father in 'Rocky IV'! Can't wait for this one, just nostalgia up the ying yang lol! Dolph Lundgren is appearing in it as well! Opening as well is the sequel to 2012 'Wreck-It Ralph', with John C. Reilly reprising his role in 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' & the newest version of the 'Robin Hood' story starring Jamie Foxx & Taron Egerton.
I think we can safely predict 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' will be the new #1 movie at the Box Office! With the American Thanksgiving Holiday, lots of kids & families will flock to this one. It's opening in the most theatres as well, 4,017, so yes #1 domestically fore sure!
