As we predicted last week 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' repeated as the #1 movie at the box office this past weekend! With $25.5M it held on to the top spot bringing its 2 week domestic total to $119M as of today. Climbing one spot back into 2nd place was 'The Grinch' with $17.9M launching it over the $200M total, impressive staying power considering it has been in theatres now for over 4 weeks! Falling into 3rd place this weekend was last week's 2nd place winner 'Creed 2' with $16.6M. Rounding out the top spots this past weekend, in the exact same order as last week, in 4th was 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' with $11.3M & 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with $8M in 5th place.
There are no new movies on wide release this weekend, which is odd! The only film of note is a 25 year anniversary re-release of the 1993 Best Picture Winner 'Schindler's List', but only in 1,000 theatres. Two weekends from now however there are some movies of note being released in theatres! 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' & Clint Eastwood's latest 'The Mule'.
Since there are no new releases this coming weekend, I think we can safely predict 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' will repeat a 3rd time at #1 at the box office!
