Weekend Box Office: June 21 - June 23, 2019

Last week we predicted your new #1 movie at the Box Office would be 'Toy Story 4'. Because it was such an easy call to make we thought we should challenge ourselves and also predicted it would bring in $100M to $150M opening weekend domestically...well that prediction was correct as well!

'Toy Story 4' came in 1st place with an opening weekend of $120M, the highest for the franchise! It was such a good film for the whole family! Ducky & Bunny stole the movie and as Canadians "Duke Kaboom" voiced by Canadian actor Keanu Reeves was great as well! Nobody even came close, 2nd place went to 'Child's Play' the latest in the "Chucky" horror film
franchise with an opening weekend of just $14M. 'Aladdin' stayed in 3rd place this past weekend with $13M and a world wide total now of $815M! An impressive total for the latest in the Disney Live Action reboots. In 4th place with $10.7M was 'Men in Black: International' which dropped from #1 the previous week, with a meagre domestic total of only $52.6M on a budget of $110M. Rounding out the top spots in 5th place was 'The Secret Life of Pets 2' with $10.2M and now has a 3 week domestic total of $117M, well above the budget of $80M.

There are a few movies opening in wide release this
weekend. Another chapter in the creepy doll horror genre 'Annabelle Comes Home' & the cool original film 'Yesterday'. It's from 'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle and stars Himesh Patel as a struggling musician realizing he's the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles after waking up in an alternate timeline where they never existed. Although we really want to see this movie there is no way on God's Green Earth anyone will beat 'Toy Story 4' lol. So our official K-Dog & Fish prediction is that 'Toy Story 4' will repeat as the #1 movie again at the Box Office this coming weekend!
