'Good Boys' is a story about three 6th grade boys that ditch school and embark on an epic journey while doing the unthinkable... and win the Weekend at the Box Office lol! One of the rare times we can honestly say we did not see this one coming. Don't get us wrong, we love the trailer and concept for this movie! Personally can't wait to see it, but with the competition this past weekend we did not predict (nor did anyone else) that it would take the top spot!
From the creative team behind the classic 'Superbad', 'Good Boys' was the #1 movie at the Box Office with $21.4M! On a budget of only $20M, this is strong showing for the 'R' rated Comedy on its opening weekend! In 2nd place with $14.1M was the reigning champ for the last 2 weekends, 'Hobbs & Shaw'. 'The Lion King' came in 3rd place with $12.3M and now has a worldwide total of $1.4B moving it on to the list of top 10 grossing films of all time. In a disappointing 4th place opening weekend of only $10.3M was 'The Angry Birds Movie 2'! This sequel failed to perform despite being in the most theatres of any movie this past weekend and gearing towards all ages during Summer break. Rounding out the top spots this past weekend was 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' in 5th place with $10M.
There's a few movies opening in theatres this coming weekend, including the Horror film 'Ready Or Not' as well as the latest in the Gerard Butler "Fallen" films 'Angel Has Fallen'. As for our official prediction I think we need to go with the 3rd instalment in the Gerard Butler Franchise! Trailer looked good, lots of action as usual, so we predict 'Angel Has Fallen' will be the #1 movie at the Box Office after this coming weekend!
