Weekend Box Office: Nov 1 - Nov 3, 2019

Last week we predicted 'Terminator: Dark Fate' would have a huge opening weekend and be your new #1 movie at the Box Office...well we were right about it being #1 but way off about the estimated total. 'Terminator: Dark Fate' failed to meet expectations with a disappointing total of $29M for its opening weekend, calling into question whether we will see another Terminator movie in the future.

Repeating in 2nd place this past weekend was 'Joker' with $13.5M! At the time of this post it has now earned over $300M domestically and over $939M worldwide! Dropping from the top spot last week, in 3rd place with $13M was 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil', 4th place went to new release 'Harriet' with a strong opening weekend of $11.6M and rounding the top spots in 5th place with $8.2M was 'The Addams Family'.

There are a few movies opening in wide release this coming weekend, including 'Playing with Fire' starring John Cena. It's about a crew of rugged firefighters who meet their match when attempting to rescue three rambunctious kids. Also opening is the World War II drama 'Midway', a new holiday movie 'Last Christmas' starring Emilia Clarke and last but not least, 'Doctor Sleep'. This one looks cool! Years following the events of 'The Shining' a now-adult Danny Torrance meets a young girl with similar powers as he tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.

There's a lot of competition this weekend, but after the lacklustre opening by 'Terminator: Dark Fate' there is no way it is repeating in first, so our official prediction is that 'Doctor Sleep' will be your new #1 movie at the Box Office after this coming Weekend! There is way too much curiosity and nostalgia revolving around 'The Shining' for it not to do well!
