Our official prediction last week was that 'Sonic the Hedgehog' would keep a "speedy lead" over the competition and repeat as the #1 movie at the Box Office. 'Call of the Wild' starring Harrison Ford outperformed expectations but came up short knocking off last week's champ.
'Sonic the Hedgehog' was the #1 movie with $26M, and now has a domestic total of over $106M! With that being said they have already announced a sequel which comes as no surprise. 'Call of the Wild' had a solid opening weekend in 2nd place with $24M. In 3rd place with a sad $6.8M was the newly re-titled, 'Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey', it's fair to say this film has officially bombed. In 4th place with $6M was 'Bad Boys for Life' and rounding out the top spots in 5th with $5.8M was the new Horror film sequel 'Brahms: The Boy II' starring Katie Holmes.
There is only one new movie opening in wide release this coming weekend, 'The Invisible Man' starring Elisabeth Moss. It's a new Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi telling of a classic story. The trailer looks good! Reminds us a bit of 'Hollow Man (2000)' starring Kevin Bacon! Tough call here, horror does typically do well but does this have enough of a draw to take the top spot? Let's roll the dice, for some reason we just can't see 'Sonic the Hedgehog' three-peating. We could be wrong on this one but our official prediction is that 'The Invisible Man' will be the new #1 movie at the Box Office after this coming weekend.
